Paul Rivera (Creative Director) brought me this project and his treatment with a clear vision of a highly kinetic, flashy, dense, rapid edit. He wanted something “nobody in CCMG has ever done before” and wanted to push this project to its limits. He flew me out to LA in August 2025 to help shoot, co-direct, and capture BTS alongside Don Barro (DP), as well as shoot Rua’s live debut performance of the track with Ace Barro (Show Cam 2) and Brandon Chen (Digicam) while we were there for extra footage.
I ended up working through almost 40 different angles and unique performance takes in the edit. By far the densest music video edit I’ve ever built. Every cut, VFX shot, transition, or instance of “breaking the footage” as Paul himself requested that perhaps appears as pure visual chaos was meticulous frame-by-frame surgery on my end. The turnaround was brutal. I handed the flat pass to Tyler Goodwin (colorist) essentially the day before it needed to go live, and he turned around the final color overnight.
This one nearly broke me to finish, but is by far my favorite piece of music video visuals I’ve ever made.
